Becoming
Data - Driven

In order to compete in the new economy, organizations need to transform their business model and very culture to be data-driven or risk becoming obsolete and perish. Join us as we examine the journey to becoming data-driven from several angles: Business Culture, Technology, and Governance.

The Path From Data-Aware to Data-Driven

Data-Aware

Data is created as a by-product of processes and functions.

Data is siloed into each function, and is primarily used for operational purposes.

Data-Informed

Data is created as a by-product of processes and functions, but can be shared on a bespoke basis into business warehouses.

Data is still siloed, but can be used to inform decisions.

Data-Enabled

Data is created as a by-product of processes and functions, but can be consolidated into data lakes and warehouses.

Data is transformed and moved to each function. Data is used to enable decisions.

Data-Driven

Data is the product and business functions organize around the data. Data is freely shared across the organization with permissions and trust built in.

Data is used to drive behaviour and functions.
